Process Navigator

Process Navigator is a software tool that allows you to produce Process Maps that can be seen by users in their browsers or on mobile devices.

It consists of two parts - the Mapping part that requires Visio and a Map Control Console to manage the maps.

It is also possible to create maps in Excel and then import the Excel files. These maps can then be edited in Visio.

It is assumed that Visio and Process Navigator have been installed onto your computer. If not then see "Installing Process Navigator". After installation Process Navigator will need to be activated.

Your organisation may provide a document which describes guidance on how the process maps are to look, file and server locations, URLs and email addresses to be used. The term Process Governance Framework is used within the Help to describe this guidance.

Sections Description
Visio part This part sits on top of Visio and allows you to use Visio to create each Process map. It provides additional commands which are specific to the tool.
This section provides a Tutorial for producing a Process Map and a more in-depth guide to the Menu that Process Navigator adds to Visio and to the shapes you will use on the Process Map.
Map Control Console The Map Control Console allows you to interact with a series of Process Maps to create links between the maps, create summary maps and to make changes to many maps at the same time.
This section provides a Tutorial for using the Map Control Console to work with the maps and a more in-depth guide to the Menus in the Map Control Console.
Working in Excel Process Navigator provides the facility to produce maps using Excel - you add the information and the visual maps are generated, which you can then use the Visio part to amend.
This section describes how to use Excel in this way.
